On the heels of winning the NAQT (National Academic Quiz Tournament) Community College National Championship three weeks ago, the 完美体育官网 Brain Bowl Team also won the FCSAA State Championship this past weekend, March 22-24. The Florida State Championship is played after the National Championship because two different organizations run the championships.
The 完美体育官网 Blue team finished the tournament 10-0 defeating TCC in the final 495-310 to claim the title. This is 完美体育官网鈥檚 12th State Brain Bowl title. Broward College is second all-time with 8.
Brayden Hand and Trevor Shelton were named tournament all-stars, finishing 2nd and 4th respectfully in individual scoring.
The 完美体育官网 Gold team finished 5th in the tournament with a 5-4 record.
完美体育官网 Blue Team Members are: Brayden Hand, John Maupin, Cade Foxworth, and Jack Taylor-Ebersole
完美体育官网 Gold Team Members are: Trevor Shelton, Seth Crutchfield, Oliver Nandho, and Chad Mayo
The 完美体育官网 team will next travel to the four-year college national championship on April 5-6 in Chicago. 完美体育官网 qualified for the four-year tournament by winning the Community College National Championship.
