完美体育官网 Awarded Reforestation Grant
USDA Forest Service through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Administration awarded 完美体育官网 a second reforestation grant totaling $50,000. Grant dollars were awarded specifically to replace trees lost during Hurricane Michael in 2018. Approximately 1,500 mature trees on the College鈥檚 campus were downed or damaged during the storm. Grant funds were utilized to replace over a hundred natural-species trees along River Forest Road. Irrigation of the new trees was also included in the grant award. The selection of this location expands reforestation efforts initiated during the first grant awarded back in 2021 which replaced over one hundred live oak trees planted along Prough Drive and around the retention pond located across from Prough Center for the Arts.
